Our Roots

Why the name “MindEcology?”

Our company name was inspired by the great 20th-century multi-disciplinary thinker Gregory Bateson and his groundbreaking book, “Steps to an Ecology of Mind.” While Bateson was not a marketer per se, we are inspired by his approach to understanding how our minds interact with the people, organizations and systems around us. One of Bateson’s core concepts is that mind – including information and even awareness itself – is something that extends beyond the brain and into body and the environment. Bateson’s all-inclusive view of cause-and-effect and the flow of information informs our understanding of how effective marketing works.

At MindEcology, every service that we offer corresponds to the continuous “feedback loop” of information and action that extends throughout your entire marketing, sales, and fulfillment operations.
